MORE ABOUT ME
I have loved singing all my life. I don't remember if I could sing in tune as a child. I had the hardest time with coordinating the voice after puberty. I finally started voice lessons in 2004.
Afterward, I continued singing with the idea that classical singing is the "best" way to sing! Any other was was "wrong". So of course, no matter what I sang, I sounded like a classical singer. It was never stylistically correct, so I just never tried. I didn't know that switching styles was possible until 2013! With the help of many great friends, I am now able to sing more than one style! I'm out to demystify singing and help others sing as many styles as they like!
EDUCATION
Formal private music instruction: 18 years (15 years voice, 6 years violin, 3 years piano, 2 years music theory).
I went to Las Vegas Academy of the Arts for choir and orchestra. I went to UNLV and earned a music degree.
I've performed as a soloist since 1999 (7 years violin, 20+ years voice).
I try to continue to be up to date on recent vocal pedagogy. We have much better equipment today which helps to understand the voice. HOWEVER, getting things "right" doesn't mean you're creating art!
The goal of the visionary vocalist is to ever question current and traditional beliefs of vocal pedagogy to help expand the knowledge of singers worldwide while helping future generations grow quickly, efficiently, and with maturity.
